2.2 QVGA TFT LCD Screen
The brightest, most vivid display for this type of device, with a resolution of 240 X 320 pixels the gigabeat" screen is capable of reproducing approximately 264,000 colours making it perfect for viewing the on screen graphics, album covers and even your collection of digital images.
Photo Viewer / Digital image capability
Digital still images can be downloaded onto your gigabeat via the Toshiba gigabeat room management software (included!). Photos can be viewed in widescreen format or in portrait format. You can even create slideshows of your favourite digital still images, and further more create music playlists enabling you to view your slideshows along to your favourite music. Ever played a song that reminded you of a loved one or your friends? With gigabeat you can view a photo of them whenever that song is played!
RipRec USB Docking Cradle
Each product in the gigabeat range comes complete with a RipRec docking cradle. This offers ease of use for some of the gigabeat's key features and makes connectivity to your PC a breeze. RipRec enables you to copy the contents of a CD from your music collection onto your gigabeat at the touch of a button, simply put the CD in your PC drive and press the RipRec button on your cradle. This will read the music data from the CD and transfer it to the gigabeat, 1 track can be transferred in as little as 30 seconds and an entire album in as little as 5 minutes!
Toshiba gigabeat room management software
The gigabeat supports MP3, Windows Media Audio or WAV files if passed through Toshiba's "gigabeat Room" software. The gigabeat" room makes ripping your CD's and managing your music and image collection effortless, it also allows the use of CD RipRec" feature. While connected to the internet Gracenote CDDB® (CD Data Base) is utilised by the gigabeat room software to find album covers and track listings from the net. All information gathered by the software on each individual track of your music collection will be transferred automatically to your gigabeat giving you a comprehensive CD collection in a digital format!
Compatibility with other music management programs
As well as compatibility with the Toshiba gigabeat room software the gigabeat also supports Windows Media player 10 (DRM9 & 10 Janus) and Napster To Go software. As one of the most recognised music download sites today Napster" To Go, lets you choose from a million tracks. The gigabeat installation CD-ROM includes the Napster To Go software. If you don't already use Napster, simply select it during the installation process and a whole world of music is unleashed! Toshiba gigabeat also supports Windows Media Playforsure" you can be assured that when you find a music site that displays the Playforsure" logo, gigabeat will be compatible.
Plustouch Sensor Control
Toshiba's unique Plustouch Sensor is an easy to use, intuitive control system. Simply press, tap or scroll your finger across or down the touch sensitive Plus Sign and gigabeat's features are literally at the tip of your fingers.
Up To 16 Hours Lithium-Ion Battery Life
Enjoy your music for longer. With up to 16 hours of battery life gigabeat lasts longer! (With a colour screen too!) Unlike other players that can only be charged with a mains adaptor, gigabeat also offers a charging option via USB when connected to your PC. However, if you choose to charge with the conventional adaptor, don't expect to have to wait for more than 3 hours for full power!
29 Equalizer Settings
gigabeat offers 29 user selectable preset equaliser settings including Rock, Pop, Jazz, R&B, Classical, Jazz and even SRS® WOW" surround to satisfy even the most broad tasted musical connoisseur. For further flexibility a USER setting is available where bass and treble can be manually adjusted to suit the listener's preference. Further more, by using the gigabeat room software a specific equaliser setting can be determined for each individual track. Simply select the desired equaliser setting on your PC and on synchronization the EQ preferences will be automatically sent to your gigabeat. If you're fed up with having to turn the bass up every time your favourite tracks come on, let gigabeat room do it for you!
Storage Device
